In the Eyes of Jesus - Part 1

How wonderful would the world be if we saw the way Jesus saw?

1 Corinthians 2:16 says, "We have the mind of Christ."

Imagine if we could say, "We have the eyes of Jesus." To have the ability to see people, not as bodies and not just as they are, but to see them with imagination. To see them with the eyes of the heart. To see their desires, their needs, their pain and to see their possibilities.

Perhaps then teachers would see that hard to teach, un-disciplined, hard headed student as one day winning "Teacher of the Year" himself, because something they did inspired him to turn himself around and become a teacher so that he could inspire others.

Or we see that young alcoholic/drug addict one day holding the hands of his wife and children standing at a microphone telling hundreds of people how God changed his life and how he was now helping other addicts to straighten their lives out.

Or how about that young teenage girl sitting over in the corner, wearing all black, a loner. And she has scars up and down her arms and you've heard that she "cuts". Perhaps one day we'll see her wearing a black robe with a stole over her shoulders and she's standing behind a pulpit preaching the Word of God because we were willing to see her for who she could be and not just what she was. Like Jesus did with you and me.

With the Eyes of Jesus, we don't just see what is. We also see what can be. The vision is limitless and the possibilities is endless.

  1. This was a wonderful series that truly blessed me as I was inspired to write my sermons. My God is truly an awesome God who reigns from Heaven above with power, wisdom and love. Seek him and you will find him because he's looking at you right now.
